SRK and Amitabh Bachchan cold war still on !

There are friendships and enmities galore in Bollywood, and the two are often interchangeable. In most cases, you never know which is which, since both are cloaked under the guise of professionalism.

Take Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, as examples. The rivalry between the emperor and the king began when SRK took up ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 3′ as a host. Their on-again, off-again friendship has been in the news since then.

Recently, on the day of the release of his latest film, ‘Om Shanti Om’, Shah Rukh was the chief guest on ‘Nach Baliye 3′, on STAR Plus.

Here, he spoke about his heroine, Deepika Padukone, and mentioned that he had a blast working with her. There was one slight problem, he added, and that was her height.

“We wanted one kissing scene, but I only reached up to her stomach,” he joked. “Her height is suitable for one hero only, and that is Amitabh Bachchan,” he added.

Maybe he was joking, but if it was a dig (which only Shah Rukh can confirm), we do not think the Big B will take it lightly. Especially since much has been written about Amitabh already not being too pleased with SRK. Aishwarya and Salman Khan together – Thanks to London’s famous wax museum

Thanks to London’s famous wax museum, Madame Tussauds, Aishwarya Bachchan and former flame Salman Khan will get to be together.

Well, we’re talking about their wax statues at the museum. Salman’s statue at the museum will be unveiled in January 2008. Aishwarya already has a statue dedicated to her at the museum. Our source says, “This will immortalise them together.”

And the reasons for placing the statues together are purely business oriented. “After SRK’s wax figure in Madame Tussauds was unveiled, business quadrupled. If Salman and her statues are paired together, business will further multiply,” the source adds. When contacted, Salman Ahmed (Group Managing Director of Bobby Khan Holdings who now have the rights to open Madame Tussauds in Mumbai) says, “There has never been any branding here but recently, we have been inundated by offers from corporates in India. A new zone called the Bollywood Zone is being created,” he added.

When questioned about whether Salman’s statue was being placed beside Aishwarya, he said, “There is a good possibility for everything, depending on the demand and of course, Madame Tussauds authorities.”

Where the female debutante of ‘Saawariya’, Sonam Kapoor, is going places after signing ‘Delhi 6’, the male debutante, Ranbir Kapoor, son of Rishi-Neetu Kapoor is not far behind.
The ‘chirag’ of ‘Kapoor Khandan’ has already started work for his next movie even within days of his first release. The film from Yash Raj production house directed by Siddhartha Ananad is yet untitled and interestingly, in this film the chocolate-boy Ranbir will be seen romancing not just one or two but four heroines- Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Minissha Lamba and Deepika Padukone. Shilpa Shetty now a Flop show in UK

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s musical Miss Bollywood has been canceled yet again, after being severely panned by critics.

However, the reason being given for the sudden termination is the actress’ ill health.

The 32-year-old actress was forced to open her musical in Germany after she failed to receive any financial backing from London’s West End.

Her musical suffered a series of obstacles since its premiere, including harsh critical reviews, costume malfunctions and poor ticket sales.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner was due to perform in Cardiff on Nov 9 but didn’t turn up after succumbing to an unknown illness.

“Shilpa has been ill all week and it on a course of antibiotics. She needs to take a rest,” her tour organizer, Farhath Hussain, said.

Rani Mukherjee lands into trouble

Getting into a land deal has turned out to be a nightmare for Rani Mukherjee. Wanting to build a house in Shirdi near Kopargaon in Ahmednagar district, Rani purchased a 11,000 square feet land in December, 2005 for Rs. 33 lakh from one Sampat More, but unfortunately the land was non-transferable and hence non-saleable.

The scam came in the limelight only after her father Ram applied for the addition of her name on the 7/12 extract (a document proving ownership). Later, they found that the said land was conditionally leased out for tilling by the State Farming Corporation to a certain Raman Kshirsagar, and that the land can be neither bought nor sold without prior approval. Kshirsagar carved up the land on the pretext of making a kiln, and eventually, sold it to 17 buyers instead of setting up the kiln. Sampat More happened to be one of the 17 buyers, who later went on to sell the same to Rani Mukherjee. The administration has sent an inquiry notice to all 17 buyers.

The district collector of Ahmednagar, Umakant Dangat, charged the Mukherjees saying that they should have enquired before getting into a transaction. He said, “Rani Mukerji’s father had come here a few days ago to have the land registered in their names but the land was already allotted for farming purposes.”

Bipasha Basu is the world’s sexiest Asian woman in 2007

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has been named the sexiest Asian woman in the world 2007 by a leading London-based asian daily.

Legendary bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, 42, was the runner-up while last year’s winner Priyanka Chopra, 25, was placed third by the daily.

The top ten women are, Bipasha Basu, Madhuri Dixit, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Laila Rouass, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Iman Ali.

Brit babes on the 2007 list include Laila Rouass (5), Amrita Hunjan (20), Sophie (33), Pooja Shah (36), Konnie Huq (40) Mia (42) Parminder Nagra (43), Selina Soopramanien (47) and Anjlee Desai (48).

It is the third time that that the daily has published a list of 50 sexiest Asian women.

The 2005 winner was also Bipasha.

Commenting on her selection, the 28 year old said, “I’m glad I got the crown back and will try and hold onto it this time. I think sexiness goes beyond just looks and is a total package, from your personality to the way you carry yourself in your every day life. I’m really grateful to whoever voted for me because I work very hard.”

Bipasha will next be seen on the silver screen in ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’, alongside her real life beau John Abraham.

Hamant Verma, editor of the daily and founder of its sexiest Asian women in the world list, said, “Bipasha Basu is a living embodiment of sexual attractiveness. Her acting ability, beauty and charm are capable of arousing great interest in her from the world’s media.”

SHOCKING: Shahid takes Vidya home?

yesterday, an intrepid reporter told me how he caught the two travelling to the latter’s home after an event. Vidya was attending a press conference for her next film Halla Bol at a suburban Mumbai hotel. After giving out sound bytes, posing for pictures and the works, she stepped into her black Honda CRV. 50 metres away from the hotel’s main gate, the car stopped; the driver got off and started signalling furiously towards someone behind. Seconds later, a silver Toyota Innova pulled over and before you could say ‘Jack Robinson’, Vidya jumped out of her car and promptly stepped into the silver Innova. Not to be outdone, my eager beaver reporter friend decided to follow them in an auto rickshaw (oh yes, sometimes the three wheeler can work wonders in Mumbai traffic).

Apparently glasses in the Innova were so tinted that absolutely nothing was visible. In fact, a small patch close to the side-view mirror was especially left uncovered for the driver to see the oncoming traffic. While this reporter friend was not quite sure about who else was in the car with the actress, his question was answered when at a particular traffic signal he saw a silhouette (which looked like Shahid’s) changing position, from the navigator’s to the passenger’s seat.

Somewhere along, the twosome realised they were being followed and tried changing course. Of course, the measly rickshaw was no match for the mighty Innova and our friend almost lost them twice. But then again, thanks to the traffic he found himself barely inches away from the powerful machine.

The couple knew they would be on firmer grounds when they reached the area near Shahid’s home, which has a lot of by lanes and trees right in the middle of the roads. Little did they realise that manoeuvring a rickshaw is far simpler than driving an SUV. So all attempts of trying to outrun the rickshaw failed.

Salman Khan helps Broke Clark in a hit and run case

Salman Khan has already burnt his fingers in a hit and run case. So, no doubt the actor turned up to help a Canadian model friend of his to save her from being arrested in the same case.

Early Sunday morning, Salman Khan got a call from the Canadian model Broke Clark asking him to come to her help at Worli in Mumbai. Broke was driving a Swift car that collided against a motorbike that was being driven by two police constables; the constables were injured and rushed to the hospital.

Salman was at the scene of accident in no time and he also accompanied the model to Worli Police Station. Actor Jackie Shroff also joined him at the Police station and both of them bailed the Canadian beauty out from jail and walked out with her.

Later Salman had to pay for his generous nature as he was questioned for over an hour late Tuesday in connection with the accident case.

“Salman was seen at the accident spot within minutes of the incident and we had called him for an enquiry like in any other case as we normally do. He was busy shooting during the day due to which he came at the Worli police station at around 9 pm IST,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone 3) Ashok Deshbhratar said in Mumbai.
